31,000 Surgeries Cancelled In 3 Months

14 April 2021 Kuwait

The Ministry of Health revealed that 31,000 surgeries were cancelled in Kuwait during the past 3 months at the height of the pandemic, stressing that rescheduling and completing them may require a year, Arabic daily Al Jarida reported

Even if surgeries resumed at full capacity it would take a long time to complete as ICU rooms are full and many are occupied with covid patients.

On the other hand, vaccination units in hospitals affiliated to the ministry will resume vaccination campaigns against “Covid 19” from Sunday, for the medical, nursing, technical and administrative staff.

With the completion of vaccinations for mosque workers, and the continuation of the vaccinations for workers in “cooperatives”, the daily revealed that the number of vaccinations reached 800,000 and the number is likely to reach one million by the end of Ramadan, especially since field vaccination campaigns will continue during the coming weeks, and will include various community segments.
