31 Abandoned Cars Lifted In Ahmadi Municipality Campaign
Department of Road Works and Cleanliness at Ahmadi Municipality held a campaign targeting abandoned vehicles and those parked in wrong locations for sale in Fahaheel Industrial area. During the campaign, 31 vehicles were lifted, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The campaign was supervised and coordinated by Director of Ahmadi Municipality Eng Fahad Al-Shatili, who said the abandoned vehicles and those parked in open yards for sale are contaminating the civilized appearance of Ahmadi Governorate. Department of Road Works and Cleanliness urged the general public to contact the department through the number 1844448 or via the department’s social media account to report any complaints or offer any suggestions that would help the department to better its performance. Kuwait Municipality Director Eng Ahmed Al-Manfouhi issued administrative decision number 1/2017 stating that new Municipality Law number 33/2016 was enforced soon after its publication in Kuwait Gazette on July 12, 2016, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Al-Manfouhi explained the decision aims to end construction violations, indicating Article 39 stipulates penalties on anyone proven to have committed violations including construction offices, consultant engineers, supervising engineers and contractors who carry out or supervise construction sites where violations were uncovered. He disclosed the fine ranges from KD 5,000 to KD 10,000 while all erring non-Kuwaitis will be deported. He said the licenses of involved offices will be withdrawn and the contractor’s classification will be cancelled. He then called on concerned individuals and bodies to strictly comply with the law to avoid legal problems.
