30,000 Private Sector Kuwaiti Workers Benefit From Subsidy
The number of beneficiaries of the Cabinet’s decision to increase the subsidy for Kuwaiti private sector employees who hold secondary, intermediate and lower certificates reached 30,000, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources affirmed the transactions are being prepared by employees at the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP), clarifying that the beneficiaries must visit MGRP in case the payment of subsidy is delayed until next year. Deputy Director General of National Labor Affairs at MGRP Iman Al-Ansari affirmed the payment of subsidy will be completed in December.
She reiterated the decision of the Cabinet includes increasing the national labor subsidy for holders of secondary, intermediate and lower certificates.
Decision
She said Article Four of the decision stipulates increasing the social allowance for employees holding secondary and intermediate certificates, completed the one-year training course or worked in the private sector for one year, as well as the employees with lower certificates who completed the two-year training course or worked in the private sector for two years. She added the subsidy increase for holders of secondary and intermediate certificates ranges from KD147 to KD161, while the increase for those with lower certificates ranges from KD 136 to KD161.
