286 Cigarette Cartons Seized

Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post recently thwarted two separate attempts by male travelers to smuggle 286 cartons of cigarettes to the neighboring country, reports Al- Anba daily. From one of the vehicles the inspectors seized 233 cartons which were hidden in a secret compartment and 53 from the other. The contraband and the smugglers have been referred to authorities and their vehicles have been temporarily impounded.
