26 Fuel Station Contracts Will Be Terminated By Knpc
Kuwait National Petroleum Company terminated its contract to build 26 fuel stations, including seven that were going to be demolished and rebuilt as a result of contractors' shortcomings and failure to obtain government licenses, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In accordance with the requirements of government agencies, the company is currently reviewing the final plans and approving them. As a first phase, 26 fuel stations will be built, followed by 15 stations in a second phase, where a consulting office is said to have begun designing them as approvals and licenses are obtained. The consulting office's work revolves around it.
As a result, the company intends to investigate the accuracy of distributing the designs and supervision tasks in future projects, as long as they are distributed among more than one consulting firm, as well as selecting engineering firms with the necessary expertise. Implementation work is underway for the designs of 40 petrol filling stations - 15 stations in the second package and 25 in the third package.
As a result of the failure to obtain the necessary permits from various government agencies, the company's strategic plan stated that the implementation of its designs was delayed. As a result, all construction work and the operation of these stations were disrupted, which was in line with the company's strategic plan when it built and established these stations.
To meet the needs of the local market, as well as to cover urban expansion and new residential areas, the KNPC has developed a strategic plan for 2030 to build 100 new fuel stations and renovate 43 stations. Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) reported Friday that a sudden blackout occurred at Mina Abdullah Refinery without affecting output or exports.
