2.5 Million Residence Permits; 421,131 Driving Licenses Renewed Online

Statistics issued by the General Administration of Information Systems revealed that 6,744,248 transactions have been completed, including on the ‘Mata platform’, (online residence renewal, and Kuwaiti passport renewal) since launching the service.

Residence renewal for expatriates on Article 18 in the private sector was 1,336,828, while residence renewal for domestic workers (Article 20) was 447,297. The ministry has also renewed the passports of 507 Kuwaitis.

The Ministry disclosed 421,131 driving licenses have been renewed in addition to confiscating and/or replacing lost driving licenses of 23,754 expatriates and collected KD 1,320,026 in fines from violators of traffic laws.
