230 Kilos Of Narcotic Substances Seized
The Ministry of the Interior announced the seizure of 230 kilograms of narcotic substances and 3 persons who bring these substances into the country for the purpose of trafficking, in coordination between the General Administration of Drug Control and the General Administration of Coast Guard.
The Ministry’s General Department of Security Relations and Media stated that information received from secret sources indicates that the accused brought large quantities of narcotic substances into the country by sea from one of the neighboring countries with the intent to trade in them through dumping them in regional waters near an island, and accordingly the information and inferences were collected.
Which confirmed the validity of this information received, as legal permission was obtained from the competent authorities, and to comb the area, 3 bags containing a large number of narcotic substances were found. With the intensification of the investigations, the defendants were seized and found in their possession (230) kilos of narcotic substances consisting of (210) kilos of narcotic substance, (10) kilos of opium, and (10) kilograms of psychotropic substance and by interrogating them they acknowledged and confessed what Attribute to them.
The accused and the seized persons have been referred to the competent authorities to take legal action against them.
