20 Officials Referred To Public Prosecution Office And Nazaha, Oil Sector Recovers Kd22.5 Million

01 September 2020 Crime News

The oil sector is working on its own to hold law violators accountable, and end corruption, as 20 officials have been referred to the Public Prosecution, the Anti-Corruption Commission and other investigation authorities in the past five years, Al-Rai daily states, quoting sources.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiary companies organized dozens of investigation committees to look into the practices mentioned in the Audit Bureau’s reports and looked into details from the companies’ administrations. Their results and recommendations were harsh and strict, which lead to the signing of 52 disciplinary penalties, including the dismissal of four officials from service without remuneration.

The strictness of the oil sector in dealing with any misappropriation of public funds has ensured the recovery of KD22.5 million dinars.
