2 Kuwaitis Referred For Attempting To Smuggle Saudi Registered Sports Car
Two employees of the General Administration of Customs and two Kuwaitis have been referred to the security authorities for attempting to smuggle a Saudi-registered sports car into the country through the Al-Salmi border point, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the suspects placed a Kuwaiti number plates on the vehicle in a vain attempt to commit the crime. According to security sources a Kuwaiti was stopped at the border point when he attempted to enter the country with the sports car that carried the Saudi numbers upon orders of the General Traffic Department.
The owner of the car was forced to park the car and leave. After a few days the securitymen discovered the disappearance of the vehicle which raised many eyebrows and the security authorities took a decision to check the CCTV cameras placed at the border point and to the surprise of the authorities a Kuwaiti is seen replacing the Saudi number plates with the Kuwaiti number plate of the car belonging to his friend and two customs officers allowing the man to enter the country after stamping the papers.
Following this the security authorities took the customs officers into custody and then arrested the owner of the car and his friend and referred to the Salmi Police Station and impounded the vehicle.
