18 Social Media Accounts Sued For Exploiting Kids

Eighteen social media accounts suspected of exploiting children have been referred to Public Prosecution.

The owners of the accounts signed undertakings to refrain from using children in promoting commercial commodities, reported Kuwait Times.

The Public Prosecution had strict guidelines to ensure that children are adequately protected from the potential dangers associated with social media

The new guidelines add to the existing juvenile laws which criminalise the abuse of children.

Under the new guidelines, should media users in Kuwait shall be at least 13 years of age.

Any member of the public can file a case against any social media account or advertisement exploiting children.

The parents, as the guardians of the child, will be penalised for exposing their children to cyber exploitation.
