17 Shops Penalized For Violating Law And Guidelines

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Tuesday that its inspection teams had filed reports against 17 shops and shut down three shops for breaking law and guidelines put in place to curb the fallout of coronavirus (Covid-19).

The ministry’s trade control and consumers’ protection sector had monitored a total of 71 cooperative societies, shopping centers and shops in order to verify if they followed the determined prices of products, the ministry said in a statement to KUNA.

It added that its teams had also inspected 80 supply shops with a view to making sure that the process of selling and delivering food commodities to citizens had gone smoothly.

It noted that its emergency center had received a total of 112 complaints through its hotline (135) and 10 others via its control centers, while 45 supply cards were issued or renewed
