15 Ethiopians Arrested In Raid

25 July 2016 Crime News

Officers from the General Residency Affairs Department in the Interior Ministry arrested a gang of Ethiopians – three men and 12 women – for operating a bogus domestic labor office. In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department disclosed a security team was formed based on a tip-off. The team was then tasked to put the gang under surveillance. Investigations revealed the Ethiopians provided shelter to runaway maids and ‘sold’ them to other sponsors. After some time, they asked the housemaids to escape from the new sponsors and then ‘sold’ them to other employers. The officers also discovered later that all those arrested are wanted by law for absconding and other cases.
