1474 Dinars Is The Average Monthly Wage For Kuwaitis In The Two Sectors

The economic weekly report said that the latest statistics issued by the Central Administration of Statistics on employment in Kuwait as at the end of 2020 (classified according to number, gender, nationality, wages, ages … etc.) show that their size amounted to about 1.993 million workers without counting the number Domestic workers (2.133 million workers at the end of 2019).

According to the report, when adding domestic workers and the like – the family sector – amounting to about 669 thousand workers, the total becomes about 2.662 million workers (2.865 million workers at the end of 2019), while the proportion of domestic workers is about 25.1 percent of total employment in Kuwait, as at the end of 2020 (25.5 percent of total employment at the end of 2019).

In details, the average monthly wage for male Kuwaiti workers in the government sector was about 1871 dinars (1834 dinars at the end of 2019), and that rate for Kuwaiti females was about 1,302 dinars (1287 dinars at the end of 2019), a difference of 43.7 percent in favor of wages Men.

Despite this, the productivity of the government sector remained weak, either because of the crowded and unorganized work environment, or because of the poor educational level, or because of the disconnect between educational outcomes and the requirements of the labor market, or even because of the spread of battered diplomas.
