140 Job Vacancies Available At Tec – Company Employs 850 Expat Workers
The Tourism Enterprises Company (TEC) has 140 job vacancies for the year 2020 and these vacancies have not been filled until now due to the circumstances that the country is currently witnessing as a result of the corona pandemic, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily obtained a copy of the document about the vacancies from TEC, which affirmed commitment to the percentage of national workers as per the certificate issued by the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) on the percentage of national workers in non-governmental entities. On the number of non-Kuwaiti workers, sources revealed the company has about 850 foreign workers under 805 local and foreign contracts, as well as 45 special contracts.
The company has no workers under the bonus and ‘wage for work’ items, sources clarified. About the implementation of the policy in replacing expatriate workers with citizens in the past five years, sources explained that due to the nature of the company which is associated with managing tourism and entertainment facilities as well as the provision of services; most of the technical and service jobs are occupied by non-Kuwaitis with a high turnover in terms of recruitment and termination.
Most of the leadership and supervisory positions are occupied by Kuwaitis, sources confirmed. The company hired a total of 130 Kuwaitis in the last five years, while 851 non-Kuwaitis were terminated. The company has three non-Kuwaiti consultants – a British financial advisor with 22 years of experience, a Lebanese legal advisor with 18 years of experience, and a French food and beverage consultant with more than 22 years of experience, sources added.
