33 Countires Added To High Risk Countries Total 68
The General Administration of Civil Aviation announced the new measures that will be applied at Kuwait International Airport as of Sunday 21/2/2021, based on the instructions of the health authorities to face the repercussions of the spread of the Covid 19 virus, especially after the emergence of mutated strains of the Corona virus.
And confirming what "Al-Rai" published in its Friday issue, "civil aviation" classified the countries as high risk instead of "prohibited."
Sources told Al-Rai that the list of high-risk countries is expanding to more than 60, after adding about 33 new countries to the previous 35.
The 33 countries that the health authorities requested to add are: South Africa - Portugal - Angola Botswana - Democratic Republic of the Congo - Cape Verde - Eswatini Lesotho - Malawi - Zimbabwe - Turkey - Japan - Mauritius - Seychelles - Bolivia - Mozambique - Namibia - Tanzania - Zambia - Suriname - Sweden - Ireland - Switzerland Venezuela - Paraguay - Ecuador - Guyana - French Guiana - Uruguay, Trinidad and Tobago - the United Arab Emirates - Germany - the United States of America.
These countries are added to the previous list of countries that include: India - Iran - China - Brazil - Colombia - Armenia - Bangladesh - the Philippines - Syria - Spain - Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sri Lanka - Nepal - Iraq - Mexico - Indonesia - Chile - Pakistan - Egypt - Lebanon - Hong Kong - Italy - North Macedonia - Moldova - Panama - Peru - Serbia - Montenegro and Dominicans - Kosovo - Afghanistan - Argentina - France - Yemen - Britain.
In a press release, the Civil Aviation said that all passengers arriving via direct flights from high-risk countries will be required to enter institutional quarantine in a local hotel for a period of 14 days at their own expense by registering on the "Kuwait Traveler" platform, while the rest of the passengers coming from other countries will be Require them to quarantine the institution in a local hotel for a period of 7 days at their own expense by registering on the "Kuwait Traveler" platform, provided that the quarantine period is completed for another 7 days in home quarantine.
The statement said that he is exempted from institutional detention: “Kuwaiti patients seeking treatment abroad, Kuwaiti students studying abroad, minors under 18 and unaccompanied travelers, members of the diplomatic corps and medical staff,” provided that they are subject to home quarantine for a period of 14 days.
The statement emphasized that no passenger will be accepted on incoming flights to Kuwait except by registering on the “Kuwait Traveler” platform kuwaitmosafer.gov.kw
