120 Land Telephones Inside Most Of The Central Prison Wards To Control Abuses

Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Institutions and Law Enforcement Institutions at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Farraj Al-Zua’bi has given instructions to install 120 land telephones inside most of the Central Prison wards to control abuses within the facility, particularly to control the smuggling of cell phones to prisoners, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, there are complaints about gadgets being smuggled to the prisoners during visits by guests, family members and lawyers. The source said that these phones allow inmates to speak for a maximum of 10 minutes, between 8 am and 8 pm.
