1,600 Cases Handled During Rain In Kuwait These Days - Mpw

The Ministry of Public Work’s (MPW) Assistant Undersecretary for Maintenance Engineering Mohammed Bin Nakhi reassured citizens and expatriates about the ministry’s preparations to handle the downpour of rain featured in Kuwait these days, and stressed that all ministry emergency teams were fully alerted to handle further heavy rain forecast for this weekend.

Bin Nakhi added that ever since the rain started a few days ago, the MPW had received 1,616 complaints with a majority reporting rain drainage system blockages and the accumulation of water forming ponds in certain places.

He explained that 473 complaints were made in the capital, 315 in Jahra, 249 in Farwaniya, 229 in Hawalli, 206 in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and 132 in Ahamdi in addition to 12 on expressways. Furthermore, Bin Nakhi stressed that he toured South Surra, Farwaniya and a number of expressways to make sure the emergency teams operating there were readily available to interfere in case of contingency.
