E-government Forum Would Contribute To The Digitalization Of The Public Service - Min. Al-roudhan
Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan said on Sunday the E-Government Forum would contribute to the digitalization of the public service. The state institutions made headway towards digitalization and going online, Al-Roudhan, who doubles as Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs, told reporters on the opening ceremony of the two-day event.
The forum, being sponsored by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, includes a number of workshops where the participants will brainstorm ideas on how to leverage the e-government system.
The minister expressed hope that the state institutions, represented at the event, will maximize benefit from the gathering. He noted that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry won the award for the best electronic project this year in recognition of efforts made by incumbent and former leaders of ministry.
;Al-Roudhan paid tribute to Khaled Al-Shemali, the late undersecretary of the ministry, who was the first advocate for the e-government initiative.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will add more services to its one-window portal in the coming period, which will help meet the needs of individual and corporate applicants for services in shorter time, he revealed.
During the opening ceremony, the organizers of the forum granted the Ministry the special e-service award in recognition of its efforts to modernize and digitalize the public service. Minister Al-Roundhan, in turn, dedicated the award to the family of Khaled Al-Shemali who laid the groundwork for the one-window project.
