Toastmaster Eloquence Unplugged This Friday

“Glossophobia” or the fear of public speaking is one of the most common phobias and more than 75% of people have them.

This Friday, from 2 – 7 pm at American University of Kuwait, witness “Eloquence Unplugged” from amongst the top 8 contestants who battle for the title of Best Speaker!

Area 19 Toastmasters, which comprises of 4 clubs namely ACK, Arifjaan Articulators, Timbre Talkers and Kuwait Mentors and Coaches have more than 100 members who will meet up for Annual Contest 2016, this Friday. Contestants will participate in 4 categories namely International Speech, Humorous Speech, Table Topics and Evaluation and 2 winners from each category will move on to contest in the Division Level which will be held on the 29th of April 2016.

Guests are welcome to witness “Eloquence Unplugged”
There are around 50 clubs English and Arabic speaking clubs in Kuwait. More than 500 people enjoy their journey as a toastmaster in Kuwait.

Toastmasters International started from a humble beginning in 1924 at the basement of Young Men’s Christian Association(YMCA) in California, USA.
RalphC. Smedley held the first meeting of what would eventually become Toastmasters International (TMI) the date was October22,1924.

TMI has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of a crowd/ audience. Survey after survey shows that presentation skills are crucial to success in the workplace. Many people pay high fees for seminars to gain the skills and confidence necessary to face an audience .
Toastmasters provide an option which is less expensive and held in high regard in business circles. This organization is over 87 years and offers a proven and enjoyable way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills.
