Overview
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and/or supervises pharmacy interns. Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory.
Skills
1 Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
Â2 Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
Â3 Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
4 Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Â5 Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Â
6 Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
7 Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Â9 Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
