Attracted by the fashion world, he moved to Rome in 1962, starting to work in the atelier of Patrick de Barentzen and Giles. In 1964 he founded a partnership with Giles that was to last ten years. In 1974 he opened his atelier in Rome in Piazza di Spagna and, in 1979, after the successes obtained with high fashion, he presented his first collection of women's prêt-à-porter. He is known for his sexy creations, and the awards he received include the "Silver Mask" for high fashion in 1967, the "Singer" award in New York as a young designer and the Pittsburgh Award in 1973. Today, Rocco Barocco is one of the most successful Italian designers and his brand is known and exported all over the world. Every year he presents his men's / women's prêt-à-porter collections in Milan during fashion week.
