It  supports  6 areas of learning that  provides solid academic foundation by implementing a thematic based approach to teaching. It involves integrating all subject areas under one theme. It crosses over subject lines and helps children to relate basic academic skills to a real world ideas. The following  thematic play- based approach are introduced to children through fun, hands on and interactive activities.At El-Salam American Nursery & Preschool we provide opportunities for your child to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves and to speak and listen to a range of situations. A specialist Arabic teacher also visits regularly and supports the older children to encourage early development of another language.We encourage children to be active and interactive; to develop their co-ordination, control and movement. During physical activities their fine and gross motors skills will be developed, including balance and co-ordination. Children will also be able to make healthy choices in relation to food and learn about healthy eating.Staff will provide children with experiences and support which will help them develop confidence in their own abilities, a positive sense of themselves and others, respect for themselves and others, develop social skills, learn how to manage their feelings and understand appropriate behavior in groups. The children will be encouraged to link sounds and letters and begin to read and write.They will be given access to a wide range of reading materials (books, poems, and other written materials) to ignite their interest.Children are able to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials, as well as provided with opportunities for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, movement, dance, role-play and design and technology. We support and guide children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.Children will have the opportunity to develop their understanding in counting and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems; and to describe shapes, spaces, and measures. Here in El-Salam, we emphasize on the engravement of manners and ethics into our children through lessons and practical evaluations. It's not only vital but necessary that our children stand out amongst others in their behavior.At the El-Salam American Nursery & Preschool babies are cared for in a clean, fresh wholesome environment designed for maximum comfort and learning. They are given loving, interactive stimulation activities utilizing developmentally appropriate play equipment. Our curriculum encourages socialization and language development as well as gross and fine motor skills. Our baby rooms are designed as self-contained areas with separate changing areas and milk kitchen.The Toddler Rooms are designed to accommodate the needs of a child who is growing towards independence. Two-year-olds are entering the world of change. Physical, emotional and intellectual development is at an all-time high so our staff is provided with appropriate resources to meet the needs of this stage of development.​At approximately 3 years old the children move on to the pre-school room, where they will be encouraged to develop at their own pace in a calm and secure atmosphere. The environment is carefully prepared to provide the children with opportunities for learning through play, exploration, creativity and to instill a natural curiosity for learning.
