Description

At Busy Bodies, our objective is to provide a stimulating and welcoming environment for children ensuring the best possible start to their learning journey. We recognise that every child is an individual and is unique. Our aim is to nurture each child’s innate abilities and motivations to develop a lifelong learner who is independent, confident and self-motivated. Children have a natural curiosity of the world around them which we strive to enrich with experiences that allow them to observe, explore, investigate, ask questions and share ideas. We follow the Montessori principles and method and the best of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) both provide the opportunity to enrich children’s early experiences that greatly affect their future physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.Busy Bodies is a British run nursery integrating Montessori methodology with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 18 months and 4.5 years. The Montessori Method is a unique and highly successful method of teaching based on the child's innate interest in learning. Montessori philosophy and teaching encourage and develop a child's interest and independence through a wide range of exercises using specific material. Given the freedom and support to question, to prove and to make connections, Montessori students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners who are able to think critically and work well in a group. The Early Years Foundation Stage principles are used by teachers to guide and support children's development through play. Through play, children develop language skills, their emotions and creativity, and social and intellectual skills. It is here they practise new ideas, take risks, show imagination and solve problems on their own or within a group. We strongly believe that a child’s first experience of ‘school’ is crucial for laying the foundations on which they build their future education. Our learning materials are specifically chosen to support the development of children's language, number, motor and cognitive skills and creative expression. We focus on providing children with exposure to activities that enable a hands-on learning that encourages curiosity, exploration and experimentation - giving children the freedom to use all their senses.
