Bustan Al Wataniya has been operating in Kuwait since 1988 as a limited liability, and is part of Towell International Holding (under the umbrella of W.J Towell, established in 1866 in Oman). The company started its commercial activities with the distribution of tobacco products for the one of the top five global tobacco companies; RJ. Reynolds producing brands like Winston, Salem, More, Monte Carlo and many others.
In  1999, and after the acquisition of the Japan Tobacco International (JTI) of RJ.Reynolds international brands, JTI has decided to appoint Bustan Al Wataniya as its sole distributer of its brands in Kuwait. Thus, increasing the company portfolio of tobacco brands to the Japanese products namely Mild Sven and Hi-lite.
In the year 2011 and after the success of the food distribution sector the company decided to increase its portfolio of products by importing leading brands from worldwide. The new portfolio included Ocean Spray juices, Crème de Pirouline, Borges & others. Also the company distributes Magic Chef from USA which includes several food products such as Salad dressing, Canola oil, chocolate syrup, pie filling and others.
