Al-Ru'ya Bilingual School was founded in 1996, got accredited from the CIS in July 2008 , uses Arabic and English as teaching languages.  
 
The subjects that are taught in English are the English Language Art, Math, Science, Information Technology and Arts & Crafts.

The subjects that are taught in Arabic are the Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Social Studies and the specially designed Al Ru'ya Pastoral Program. The academic program leads to the High School Diploma and focuses on preparing students for the colleges and the universities of Kuwait, the Arab world, the USA and Europe.

The teaching staff are qualified and experienced Muslim teachers from variety of Arab countries, USA, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Ghana, India , Pakistan , Nigeria, and the Far East . Students are taught within a learning environment which is based on the Arabic/Islamic culture, heritage and traditions.

RBS enrollment in 2009/2010 reached 1780 students.  The students are placed in a segrated campus, from grade 1 to12. The campus is comprises of 91 classrooms and specialized areas science labs, computer labs, and Art and Craft galleries. The two buidlings share one large Media Center, four gyms, two swimming pools and 5 playgrounds, and a purpose-built theatre. The school year runs from September to June. The year is divided into two semesters with the annual Spring holiday (late January/early February) in between.
The summer school clubs run starting June.  

All prospective students are interviewed and required to pass the English, Arabic, and Math placement tests.
